New York New York

We're just back from a weekend in NYC where we attending the wedding of a good friend from Kellogg. The wedding was beautiful and we had a fabulous time - and it gave us a good excuse to go to NYC and catch up with some friends down there.

Unfortunately I forgot my camera and therefore Hannah's first trip to the Big Apple is not properly documented but I assure you.... she loved it. I think she thought riding in a cab was the neatest thing - I've never seen her eyes get bigger than they did in Times Square ... all those lights and sounds and smells .... talk about a sensory overload for a 10 month old! We had a great weekend and are looking forward to going back again when Hannah gets a bit bigger.

We caught up our friends Ian and Anupa and finally got to meet their son Evan who is four months. He's just about the cutest thing ever and was so mellow.... we can't wait to see him again this fall when he comes up to visit us!

I realized on the way home today that my phone has a camera and I could  have used that to take some pictures this weekend. Unfortunately I made that realization a bit too late but I was able to document Hannah eating her first french fry.... she loved it as you can see!

A Typical Day....

Hannah's Nana snapped some great pictures of her during their day together earlier this week. They were too cute not to share....

Here I come!

Waving! Digging for something....

More Summer Fun on Cape Cod

We were lucky enough to get a second week of vacation on Cape Cod - spending time in both Falmouth and Chatham.  Hannah really enjoyed the beach this time and swam almost everyday on vacation.  She particularly enjoyed poaching food from Aunt Sarah - her sandwich must have looked more appealing than the sweet potatoes and rice cake I was offering!

Helping Papi and Grandma drive the boat (she actually pulled the throttle back and slowed us down just as I took this picture - she's a fast learner!)
What's in the cooler for lunch?
Posing for a picture....
Enjoying a little snack with Mom - peaches are best eaten on the beach  because they require a swim immediately following consumption....
The kite surfers were awesome on the way in from the beach on Sunday - Wilson snapped a few pictures....
They were so impressive a seal even popped up to watch .... (see if you can find it!)

Showing her new favorite pose (on tip toes) in Falmouth....
Enjoying some quality time with Elizabeth who was over visiting from the Vineyard....

Good Luck

Pictures from vacation are coming soon - we had a WONDERFUL week in Chatham and Falmouth are are struggling to get back into our routines today. In the meantime we wanted to wish Aunt Kate a successful start at USC. Hannah didn't want to keep her hat on for these pictures but - trust us when we tell you that it is a USC hat which she enjoys playing with even if she doesn't want to wear it! Congrats and good luck Kate!

Trapped

Now that Hannah's on the move we were forced to finally do some childproofing and put up some gates. Luckily, she seems to just like standing and watching the world go by and doesn't seem at all bothered by them..... yet!

Happy Friday

I don't have any recent pictures to post as Hannah is recovering from her first stomach bug and hasn't been too photogenic the last couple days. I had some old ones saved up for a rainy day though.....

Now that Hannah can move on her own she's demonstrating what we already knew - she likes to be outside. Whenever she's in a room with a door she eventually finds her way over to it and stares out longingly....
She's also finding it's fun to escape from the bathtub - and apparently the kitchen sink which serves as her bathtub in Chatham.
This is an old toy that Aunt Allie used to play with many many years ago. Hannah discovered it when we were in Chatham last time and the little people didn't leave her hand or mouth all weekend. Toys have come a long way but sometimes the old ones are the best ones I guess....
